MACHO (FISH) FRY (ODIA STYLE)
INGREDIENTS
- ROHU OR CATLA FISH CUT - 4-5 PIECES
- GARLIC- 6-8 FLAKES
- ONION- 1 (medium size)
- TOMATO- 1
- TUMERIC POWDER- 1/2tsp
- CHILLY POWDER-1tsp
- CORIANDER POWDER- 1/2tsp
- JEERA POWDER- 1/2tsp
- OIL- 1tbsp
METHOD
- MIX ALL THE INGREDIENTS EXCEPT OIL AND FISH AND MAKE A PASTE OF IT.
- SHALLOW FRY THE FISH IN A FLAT PAN TILL IT IS YELLOW IN COLOUR.
- NOW IN ANOTHER PAN PUT FISH AND PUT THE PASTE AND WATER(1 cup) SO THAT THE FISH IS JUST SUBMERGED IN IT AND COOK IT TILL THE WATER DRIES.
- THEN PUT OIL (1/2 tbsp) AND SHALLOW FRY TILL IT IS CRISP.
